June was a good month! We changed our minds about the kind of birth we wanted and took the steps to make sure we get as close as possible, I started Hypnobabies and meditating on a daily basis, Avery dresses herself in the mornings without any help from me, and we have rediscovered the nutritious and delicious breakfast treat that is known as the green smoothie (I will post a recipe this month, it’s soooo good).

July is actually going to be kick-ass and probably one of the best summers we’ve had in a long time and I’m really looking forward to more swimming, our vacation to Florida at the end of the month, and countless hours of sunshine (and snow cones, of course!).

So, how did I do on my new year’s resolutions in the month of June?

1. Get knocked up.
I love how I nailed this one (haha) in the first month of the year. It feels good to check it off every month. We will be 25 weeks tomorrow so I’ll post a pregnancy update this upcoming weekend.

2. Leave my hair alone.
OH YEAH. I got a trim from a stylist who I want to open-mouth kiss because she was just that good. My hair looks a million times better now and it is so much easier to style with just a round brush and my blow dryer. Even other people have noticed how long and soft and healthy my hair is these days.

3. Spend less money on myself.
Oops? I feel like I have done a ton of shopping recently. I’m in the zone, I guess. Buying baby stuff, stuff for Avery, Jacob, the house, and yes, even myself. Oh well.

4. Lose an average of one pound per week.
My goal during this pregnancy is to not gain any more weight that I absolutely have to which will keep the baby and me nice and healthy. I am trying to exercise more, and that’s becoming more difficult now that it’s over 100 degrees outside every single day. Even taking a walk in the evening is a beating. I have started doing prenatal yoga at home and plan on taking yoga classes starting this Saturday.

5. Learn at least one song in its entirety on my guitar.
I feel like I have no time to do it even though I’d like to practice again.

6. Read at least two books every month.
I have started reading again and will be doing a lot of reading at the beach.

7. Work on making master bedroom look like a bedroom and less like a large closet with a bed in the middle of it.
Getting there! Right now our goal is to maintain it and not let our bedroom turn into a giant laundry pile.

8. Be less of a bitch.
I know what I said last month and the month before that… but now that I have started meditating I would really like to focus on being more pleasant and peaceful. I just need to calm down and breathe.
